Bratislava, March 16, 2010 – Arca Capital and Južspecstroj, one of the most prominent Ukrainian construction companies, agreed on a strategic partnership the goal of which is to develop Kharkovmetrostroj. This collaboration will enable the formation of a strong corporation that will become the construction company leader in Ukraine.
Arca Capital owns a 38% share in Kharkovmetrostroj. The majority package of 50+1 shares in this prominent construction company was acquired a few days ago from the state property fund by the Ukrainian construction company Južspecstroj.
An agreement on the joint development of the Kharkovmetrostroj construction firm was signed between Južspecstroj and the Arca Capital group. This combines the private equity experience of Arca Capital with the construction know-how of Južspecstroj.
Južspecstroj has been active in the construction industry area since 1962. The most significant Južspecstroj project was the construction of a facility system for the main upstream waterway from the Dneper-Donbas channel into the city of Kharkov. The construction of this waterway was the most important and technologically complex facility for drinking water supply to remote locations that has ever been built in Ukraine.
By connecting these two subjects, the strong corporation of the majority stockholders will be created enabling Kharkovmetrostroj to win new contracts following the construction of the Kharkov subway, develop profile production, create more jobs, and establish itself in new markets.
